Women, dice and horse-drawn carts

KCD:MP 0.34.0 is out - play as a woman, sit down to a game of dice with another player and travel the roads on horse-drawn carts, with a steadier chat, a server list that shows only the servers you can reach, and a long list of fixes.

KCD:MP 0.34.0 is out, and it is the biggest update so far. The launcher offers it the next time you start it, or you can get it from the download page. Servers need the new version too: players and servers only play together on the same one.

Play as a woman

Your character can now be a woman: her own body, face, hair and skin, the way the game's women walk and idle, and everything a man can do - every weapon, the block, riding, the emotes. The game has no women's armour, so a woman's dress stands in for a man's clothes and armour on her body, while her inventory shows what she really wears and keeps its protection. On BasicRP servers the character creator now starts with the choice between a man and a woman.

Dice at the tavern table

Two players can sit down to the game's own dice game against each other at any dice table - the same dice, keys and scoring as in single player. Each of you plays on your own screen with the other seated across the table, and the server deals every throw, checks every move and holds the stakes. Challenge someone with /dice <name> [bet]; they answer with /dice accept. For now every match is played with plain dice: special dice and badges come in a later release.

Horse-drawn carts

Wagons pulled by two horses and two-wheeled carts behind one now travel the roads. Server owners lay out routes the carts drive by themselves, stopping where they should, with a wagoner on the bench - hop on and ride along. Free carts wait for anyone to take the reins, with friends beside you on the bench or in the back. On BasicRP servers /createcart builds a cart of your own: pick the body, the wheels, the load and the horses, and watch each change on the cart in front of you.

And more

  • The chat shows ten lines and keeps them on screen; Page Up and Page Down scroll back through what was said
  • The scoreboard shows a busy server's players in columns and pages
  • The launcher's server list shows only the servers that answer, the fullest first
  • Many crash fixes, among them the crash when someone got on a horse holding a lit torch, and fixes for gear coming off after a rejoin, an item two players could both pick up, horses bouncing on the spot and players seeing different weather

Everything that changed is in the changelog.
